Can I forward calls to an international number?
Yes. CallMama forwards to any number in any country — international forwarding is fully supported and included with every account.
Can I set different forwarding rules for different times of day?
Yes. Schedule-based routing lets you define separate rules for different hours, days of the week, and special dates. Time zones are handled automatically based on your configured location.
Does call forwarding work when I'm traveling abroad?
Yes. Forwarding rules apply regardless of where you physically are. The call routes to your designated destination over the internet — no roaming charges, no SIM swaps.
What happens if my forwarding destination doesn't answer?
You can configure a fallback — for example, if the forwarded call rings out within a set number of seconds, it falls through to voicemail and the audio lands in your inbox. Configure this per rule in the app.
Can I forward to multiple destinations at once?
Yes. Configure ring-all (every destination rings simultaneously) or sequential ringing (one after another) for redundancy across team members or devices.
How quickly do forwarding changes take effect?
Immediately. Save the rule in the app and the next incoming call follows it. No restart, no propagation delay, no carrier confirmation.
How do I forward calls from my CallMama number to my mobile?
Open the number inside the CallMama app, tap Forwarding, add your mobile as the destination, and save. The next incoming call rings on your mobile within seconds — no carrier setup needed.
Can I do conditional call forwarding (busy / no answer / unreachable)?
Yes. Configure separate rules for each condition: forward only when the line is busy, only after no-answer for X seconds, or only when unreachable. Each condition can route to a different destination.
How is CallMama call forwarding different from Rebtel or Sideline?
Rebtel offers basic forwarding within its calling plans only. Sideline limits forwarding to US/Canada destinations. CallMama supports international forwarding to any country, schedule-based rules, ring-all, and SIP endpoints — bundled free with every account.
Does call forwarding work for SMS messages too?
Forwarding rules apply to voice calls. SMS messages land in the CallMama inbox where they are accessible from any device. To get notified by email about new messages, enable email alerts in Settings.
Will the caller see my forwarded number or the original one they dialed?
The caller sees the original CallMama number they dialed — never your private mobile or destination number. Your real number stays hidden.
Is there a limit on how many forwarding rules I can create?
No practical limit. Most users create 3–5 rules covering business hours, evenings, weekends, and travel days. The CallMama backend handles dozens per number without overhead.
