Can I hide my number when calling from CallMama?
Yes. From the app settings, you can pick which CallMama number appears on outbound calls — or suppress your caller ID completely so your call shows as "Private" or "Unknown" on the receiving end.
Does caller ID work for international calls?
Yes. CallMama displays available caller ID information for inbound international calls when the data is transmitted by the originating carrier. For outbound, you can choose any CallMama number you own as the displayed identity.
Can I block a caller directly from the ID screen?
Yes. Any unwanted or flagged caller can be blocked permanently with a single tap from the active call screen, the call history, or the contact card.
Does CallMama verify incoming caller IDs?
CallMama supports STIR/SHAKEN — calls with a verified attestation are clearly labeled, helping you distinguish legitimate callers from spoofed numbers.
Does caller ID work on all my CallMama numbers?
Yes. Caller ID applies to every number on your account — virtual, local, or international. The same display logic and outbound selection works identically across all of them.
Why do some calls still show "Unknown"?
When the originating carrier suppresses or fails to forward caller information, no app can recover it. CallMama still flags the call type and any known spam signals so you have context to decide.
Is CallMama caller ID different from Truecaller?
Truecaller works by uploading every contact in your phone — many users object to this on privacy grounds. CallMama identifies callers without scraping your contact list, and adds capabilities Truecaller doesn't: choosing which of your own numbers shows on outbound, suppressing caller ID, and per-number rules. How does caller ID identify spam calls?

Yes. For your CallMama numbers in supported regions, you can set a display name (CNAM) that the recipient's carrier shows alongside your number — useful for businesses that want their company name to appear instead of just the digits.
Does outbound caller ID work for international calls?
Yes. You can select any CallMama number you own — local, international, or toll-free — as your outbound identity for international calls. Pickup rates jump significantly when the displayed prefix matches the recipient's country.
Can I have different caller IDs for different contacts?
