This Cookie Policy explains how Callmama Limited ("CallMama", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the CallMama website (callmama.com). It supports our Privacy Policy. By "cookies" we mean cookies and comparable browser storage such as localStorage and sessionStorage.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files, and localStorage and sessionStorage are small pieces of data, that a website can store in your browser. They let a site remember things between pages or visits — for example, a choice you have made. A "first-party" item is set by callmama.com itself; a "third-party" item is set by another company. Items can be deleted when you close your browser ("session") or kept for a defined period ("persistent").
2. Our approach — strictly necessary only
The CallMama website currently uses only strictly-necessary, first-party browser storage. We do not load third-party tracking, advertising, or profiling technologies on the website. Specifically, the website does not use Google Analytics or other analytics tools, does not use the Meta (Facebook) pixel or Google Ads conversion tags, does not embed a third-party chat widget, and does not run A/B-testing tools.
Any sign-in or session cookies are set only inside the logged-in CallMama application (the web portal), where they are essential to keep you securely signed in. They are not used for tracking.
3. The items we use
- callmama_cookie_consent_v1 (localStorage, first-party, persistent — about 12 months): stores your cookie-consent choice so we do not ask you again on every visit. Strictly necessary.
- ac2DismissFloating (sessionStorage, first-party, session — cleared when you close the tab): remembers that you dismissed an on-screen element on the Area Codes page. Strictly necessary / functional.
- Application session cookies (first-party, set only after you sign in to the web portal): keep you securely authenticated during your session. Strictly necessary.
4. Why we can use these without prior consent
Under EU and UK ePrivacy rules (and comparable rules elsewhere, including Brazil's LGPD framework), strictly-necessary cookies and storage that are essential to provide a service you have asked for do not require prior consent. The items above are all in that category. Because we do not set analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies on the website, no consent is required for them — and there are none to refuse.
5. Your choices and how to manage storage
You are always in control. You can delete cookies and clear localStorage/sessionStorage through your browser settings, and you can set your browser to block or warn you about cookies. Because the items we use are strictly necessary, clearing them will not break the website, but you may, for example, be asked again to confirm your cookie-consent choice. Our website uses a custom, self-hosted consent mechanism (we do not use a third-party consent platform).
6. If this changes in future
If we later introduce analytics, advertising, chat, or other non-essential technologies, we will update this policy first, classify each item, and — where the law requires it — ask for your consent through our consent banner before any such item is set. Non-essential items will load only after you agree, and you will be able to withdraw consent at any time.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. For significant changes we will post a notice on the website; for minor updates we will change the date at the top.
