COUNTRY
PHONE NUMBER

What this tool can tell you — and what it cannot.

A phone number on its own reveals only a little. Here is exactly what you get, and what you do not.

WHAT YOU SEE
  • Country of the number
  • Region for US and Canadian area codes and some UK codes
  • International (E.164) format

Worked out from the digits you type.

ONLY WHEN THE PREFIX ALLOWS IT
  • A mobile-range hint for some countries
  • Otherwise the line type is shown as Unknown

A hint from the number prefix, not a live check.

NOT INCLUDED
  • Owner name or address
  • Carrier or porting status
  • Spam reports or caller reputation

This tool cannot know these from a number alone.

Four common reasons.

01
Missed call from unknown

See which country a number belongs to before you call back. A foreign prefix you do not recognise is a reason to be careful.

02
Suspicious text message

Check the country and format of the sender number. It does not tell you whether the message is a scam, so do not click links you were not expecting.

03
Checking a contact

Check that the country and region of a number fit the story you were told. A mismatch is a reason to ask more questions.

04
Formatting a number

Get a number in international format so you can dial it from another country.

Block & screen on every call

Want this on every incoming call? CallMama caller ID does it.

In-app caller ID flags spam, verifies STIR/SHAKEN, and lets you block in one tap. No more lookup-then-decide — the data is right on the call screen.

Frequently asked.

Will this show me the caller's name and address?
No. This tool does not return names, addresses or any personal information about a number's owner.
Can I find out who's been spam-calling me?
No. It does not check spam reports or caller reputation. It shows the country a number belongs to, the region for US and Canadian area codes and some UK codes, the international format, and a mobile-range hint where the number prefix allows one.
Which countries does it cover?
The selector lists 19 countries. Region details are available for US and Canadian area codes and a small set of UK area codes; for other countries the region is shown as unknown.
Does it tell me the carrier?
No. Numbers can be moved between carriers, so the carrier cannot be read from the digits. The result says "Unknown" rather than guessing.
Is the number I type sent anywhere?
The details on this page are worked out in your browser from the digits you type. This tool does not send the number to a lookup service.
